COMPLETED CCM BIKE RESTORATION

Just wanted to share with everyone my last project that is now complete. The 1950 CCM was a blast to build thanks to the inspiration of the build off at ratrodbikes that managed to get everything in motion. This bike is a sweet ride and i can't wait for Spring when I'll be able to ride it into the ground. Bikes are made to be ridden in my opinion. In hoping that this might inspire some of you to get a new project going.

'Til next time, ride safe and Godspeed.

Gerry :)

p.s. The recumbent build is not dead, I just don't have the time right now, keep posted.

THIS IS A GREAT SITE YOU HAVE HERE GERRY. ITS BOOKMARKED AND I'LL BE BACK. I REALLY ENJOY THE RESTORATIONS OF THE OLD MACHINES. I'VE HAD A FEW OLDIES OVER THE YEARS. A 1932 "BENOIT" FROM FRANCE WITH MECHANICAL LINKAGE BRAKES. I HAVE NEVER FOUND ANY INFO ON BENOIT.
I PRESENTLY RIDE A CCM DUAL SUSPENSION MOUNTAIN. A $500 BIKE THAT I HAVE ADDED ANOTHER $1400 TO. A DAILY RIDER.
A GREAT SITE. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK GERRY.

Thanks for the great comments about the blog Zappdog! Sounds like you have something rare in your possession. Never heard about a Benoit before, let us know if your research ever provides more information. I have a custom frame in the works right now. Keep posted.

HEY GERRY
JUST TO STRAIGHTEN OUT THE INFO HERE. THE BENOIT IS LONG GONE. I THINK IT ENDED UP IN A SECOND HAND STORE AFTER IT GOT PAINTED AND PINSTRIPED. I NEVER MADE ANYTHING FROM IT. I DO WISH I STILL HAD IT NOW. I REMEMBER THE FRONT WHEEL LOOKED LIKE A PRINGLES CHIP. THE STEEL IN THE RIM WAS SO THICK I HAD MAJOR PROBLEMS GETTING IT TRUE AGAIN. I MISSED A CHANCE ON A BIKE LAST YEAR THAT HAD THE MECHANICAL BRAKES. IN ORIGINAL PAINT. THE MAKE WAS UNKNOWN (NO TAGS) BUT I THINK FROM THE SAME ERA. OUT WEST HERE THEY SEEM TO POP UP FAIRLY OFTEN. THERE MUST BE STILL LOTS OF UNEXPLORED BARNS AND SHEDS OUT HERE. CARS ARE THE SAME. SOME REAL GEMS STILL HIDDEN AWAY. SHOULD I FIND ANOTHER ALONG THAT LINE, I'LL PASS THE INFO ON TO YOU IF I DON'T WANT TO DO IT. I KNOW YOU COULD APPRECIATE AN OLD DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH.
